Primary Election August 24th, 2010

Voter Registration and Party Change Deadline: July 26th, 2010

Something for Everyone: 

Regardless of party affiliation, all voters may vote in the August Primary election.  However, Florida is a closed primary state.  This means that only registered Republicans may vote for Republican candidates and only registered Democrats may vote for Democratic candidates.  Registered voters with no party affiliation or with minor party affiliation are eligible to vote in Non-Partisan and universal primary contests.

Registered voters are reminded to update the Elections Office of any name or address change prior to Election Day.  To change your voter information on-line, click here 

Note:  To be eligible to vote in a party election, party changes must be made by the 29th day before an election.  

Universal Primary:

If all candidates in a primary race have the same party affiliation and the winner will have no opposition in the general election, all qualified electors, regardless of party affiliation may vote in the primary election for that office.

Polling Locations:

Polls will be open August 24, 2010 from 7am to 7pm. You can locate the name of your polling location on your voter information card. If you are unsure of your correct precinct you may click here and enter your address, or call our office at (863) 534-5888, and we will give you your precinct number and location. If you move within the county, you must vote in your new precinct. Important reminder! It is a felony to vote in a precinct where you do not live on Election Day.

  1. Vote by Mail: To request an absentee ballot, click here 
  2. Vote at Your Precinct: Polls are open 7am to 7pm on Election Day.
  3. Vote Early In-Person: Vote at one of our convenient locations August 9th through August 21st (Monday through Saturday, 9am - 5pm.)
